This spring, our team traveled to the village of Păcureți for a humanitarian aid mission and community outreach trip dedicated to serving this close-knit community.
Local school
Donated sports equipment and toys, and built meaningful connections with the children.
Nursing home
Delivered hygiene supplies, towels, and food to residents.
Community center
Visited a remarkable orphanage-turned-community-center supporting children, single mothers, and elderly.
Healthcare landscape
Toured hospitals and clinics; contributed supplies and financial support toward the new medical school under construction.
Kindergarten workshop
Presented on the importance of hand washing and teeth brushing.
Sustainable gifts
Gifted baby chicks to two widowed mothers as a steady food source for their families.
In the kindergarten
Lessons that stick.
Using a UV light to reveal what soap and water leave behind, our team led a hands-on lesson on handwashing and teeth brushing - turning preventative health into a game the children could see and remember.
Family visits
Meeting people where they live.
We spent time with families in their homes, listening to their stories and understanding what long-term support could look like - not as outsiders, but as neighbors.
Sustainable gifts
Small hugs, big impact.
In a household without access to a car or bus, a group of young children makes the two-mile walk to school and back each day on their own. Their mother works tirelessly to provide for her family, facing the daily challenges of raising children alone with limited resources. Through the donation of chickens to support their household, this family now has a sustainable source of nutrition and income, offering meaningful relief and a step toward greater stability.
Cultural connection
Immersed in Romanian life.
Throughout our stay we shared meals, enjoyed traditional music, took in the region's natural beauty, and learned about the local tradition of small-scale farming. Cultural connection isn't a side effect of our work - it's part of the medicine.
This mission was a tremendous success, and we're already looking forward to seeing the impact of our future trips.
